What are the best settings for insect macro photography on iPhone 16 Pro Max?

I can't get small close up things like bugs and insects to focus. In camera mode, macro can focus down to about 5 or 6 cm but in visual intelligence mode, it's about 15 cm which means the insect is too small to search with. I've tried touching the screen for the bit I want to be in focus but nothing happens. Am I doing anything wrong?

Auto macro mode issue Sometimes (more often than I would like) the auto macro mode turns on if I try to take a photo with a telephoto lens at a long distance in poor lighting. This is very annoying because I don’t want to turn off auto macro completely, but after temporarily turning off the flower icon the telephoto cannot focus. Does anyone have the same problem? iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 17.0.3

My phone is keeping blurring and deblurring after 2x zoom After the ios 16 update, I noticed on my iphone 11 pro max that the 2x cam or the more I zoomed in the photo becomes very blurry. I think this is because of the macro feature. I hope there is a way to toggle on and off the macro in the zoom cameras because it is really frustrating that I do not have a decent zoom photo which is not blurry. may be its macro may be its software update now its 16.6 version still issue exist front cam works properly back cam after 2x find hard to focus keep blurring deblurring help me solve issue
