How do I sync my MacBook songs in Music to my iPhone 16e properly?

I turned on "Sync Library" and am subscribing to Apple Music because I love how it's supposed to keep the songs on all my devices synced automatically. However, when I open Music on my iPhone 16e, it won't show me songs I recently added and it keeps showing me music suggestions that I don't want to listen to. I can't figure out how to get it to show the songs that are in my Library on my MacBook Pro. How do I get the iPhone to only show me the songs that are on my MacBook Pro? And, can I get it to leave the suggestions on (in case I want to listen to something other than what's in my Library), but at the very least, to show me the songs I most recently added on my MacBook Pro?
