iCal only partially sync'ing with Exchange. iPhone & iPad are fine
MacOS Calendar app is failing to fully sync with MS Exchange. Initially after adding the account, everything was fine. At some point months later, some new meetings never showed up on the app. On my iPhone and iPad, I can see all the meetings. But on my Mac laptop, only some of the meetings.
Troubleshooting:
- Searching the community forums, this issue has been happening to people for years. Most people never found a workable solution. Some found success with killing exchangesyncd with the Activity Monitor. I was with the majority of users and had no luck with that workaround.
- Cleared the cache (deleting the cache files). (no longer possible since upgrading to MacOS 15)
- Removed and re-added the Exchange account on the Mac.
- Restarted the Mac.
- Tried all of the above as singletons, and again as single transaction. No luck, the missing meetings are still missing... and the others that were there before are back (after a few minutes of sync'ing).
Current machine:
Apple M1 Max (MBP)
MacOS 15.5 Sequoia
Things that work: iPhone, iPad Pro, Outlook running on MacOS.
Calendar (iCal) on MacOS has decided that I only need to see some of my meetings on Exchange. I wouldn't mind too much except that one of the meetings it will NOT show me is my regularly scheduled call with my manager.
With MacOS 15, I no longer see the cache files in ~/Library/Calendars. Have they been relocated?
Killing "exchangesyncd" does not change the outcome. Is there another sync process where these calendar entries might be stuck that I should kill?
