My Mac mini M4 Pro blinking orange light during migration

We were migrating from 2024 Mac Mini M4 to new Mac Mini M4 Pro 2024. Tried several times to use Migration Assistant but there seem to have Wifi icon off and on noticed. We tried first to revive the M4, then to Restore it. Was ableto complete restore by connecting my Time Machine to the Pro.


We have been seeing an orange color on front led blinling instead of solid while. We even tried to put M4 into DFU. mode. Tried HDMI and Usb connections. We have no video for running OS nor to Recovery partition.

You will need to revive the firmware of that Mac mini.

If you can not do that from the other Mac mini, then take the amber blinking Mac mini to your local Apple Store or AASP.


Also it is more reliable to migrate from the existing Mac's Time Machine backup, than it is to migrate over your Wi-Fi network.

I ended up doing a Time Machine restore which was very recent. I suspect the peer to peer was somehow involved. I hsve neighbors in nearby apartments so there might be interference. Since Migration Assistant does its peer to peer wirelessly that could have interfered. My wifi icon on the M4 kept going off then on etc so is a good chance something got corrupted.


I also have a backup program called Backblaze but haven't tried it yet. It does continuous sweeps and copies up to the cloud. They have a couple of free ways or I can pay them to send me a full system on a Usb.


I ordered an Apple 2m charging cable that I'll try. Prior to this week the M4 has been very trouble free
