Will unsynced photos return to iPad after resyncing with iCloud?

I unsynced my

ipad from iCloud so I could delete photos and clear up storage for a software update. Now that the update is complete, I want to resync to iCloud. Will my photos come back to the iPad? Or will they be deleted from iCloud? I want my devices to be synced again but I’m scared to lose everything I have on all my devices.

iCloud Photos is a synchronization service. When you engage iCloud Photos on a device, then the Library on that device is kept exactly the same as the iCloud Photos Library. So, for instance, if you take a picture with your iPad, it is added to the iPad's Photos Library, copied to iCloud's Photos Library, and then copied to the Photos Library on each of the other devices that you have connected. If you delete a picture on your iPad, then that picture is deleted at iCloud and on all the other devices.

When you re-connect your iPad, pictures there will be copied to iCloud.com, and then pictures at iCloud.com will be copied to the iPad. Photos will do its best to avoid duplicates. Photos adds pictures to each Library-- it doesn't remove them.

Does that work for you?
