Should I prioritize MacBook Air M2 over M1 with 16 GB?

I just bought a M2 MacBook air with 8 GB of memory, my second choice was the M1 air with 16 GB, but I chose the m2 solely because of the updated design.

OT: M2 design better than M1? Does that mean you should just get M2 even if it's 8 GB? Your thoughts?

Between M1 and M2 MacBook Airs equipped with the same amount of RAM and SSD space, I would go with the M2 MacBook Air. Not for styling, but because the M2 model has a MagSafe 3 port, and a better speaker system. Also, the M2 models came in 13" and 15" sizes. With the M1 model, you could have any size that you wanted – as long as it was 13".

One also must assume that future macOS support could end earlier for the M1 MacBook Airs than for the M2 MacBook Airs. (Both M1 and M2 models will be compatible with macOS 26 "Tahoe" when it is released.)

Note that the M1 and M2 MacBook Airs both support a maximum of one external display.
