iPod Touch won't connect to wifi.

Back in November 2024, I took my iPod Touch (6th gen) to The Fix inside Walmart for a repair. It need a new battery from their diagnostics when I said the screen is lifted. So, they took about two weeks to actually work on it. Then they gave me the price for replacing the battery and the screen but with a black cover since they do not have a white one. After I paid for it, the device would not connect to my wifi network or any for that matter. While I know it's outdated at this point, I just want to erase it. I followed all instructions but it still requires me to connect to wifi and sign out of my apple account but it won't let me do that. I need help on how to do this. I called the apple store and they hung up on me. Geek squad won't help since I had a bad customer experience with a product last time. I'm at my wit's end with this thing. I need help.

(I hope the images below would help illustrate the problem)

In the first image in your post (providing the moderators have not removed them) there are two Wi-Fi networks listed (the 2G and the 5G of the same network): are either of them the network that you're trying to connect to?

If so, I notice that both signals are very weak, which might make it more difficult to connect to them. The more solid bars in the"fan" icon the stronger the signal:

I suggest that you need to move closer to your Router, thereby receiving a stronger signal. Does that sort out the issue? If not, providing that you have a good or strong signal, what happens when you try to connect to either network? A 6th gen iPod Touch should be able to connect to either the 2G or the 5G network.

If the network shown is not the one you're trying to connect to (and since no other networks are shown), are you sure that your Router is on and that you are near enough to it for your iPod to receive the signal? Do you have any other devices that can connect to your specific router? I suggest that you have the iPod next to the router while you try connecting to it.

In the second image in your post, even if you are still in the same physical spot as in the first picture, the reason why neither network from the first picture is listed is because the Wi-Fi signals received by an iPod will constantly vary in strength. This is expected behaviour.

There are several things that can interfere with a Wi-Fi signal; microwave ovens are a definite villain, particularly if the microwave is operating and is between your iPod and the router.
