I have a iPod classic 2006 Model A1136 80GB and I replaced the battery in this iPod a year ago and the old battery has been expanded for 10 years, and the new battery in the iPod was fine and now when I plug in the iPod is flickering with a white screen and has a burning smell or smoke how can I fix it if I can't can I get all my data off of it?

If your iPod is creating a burning smell and there's smoke, do not use it. Continued use of an iPod that's doing that creates a serious risk of fire.

Apple no longer offer service on iPods, but the iPod should be inspected by someone who knows what they are doing, an experienced technician for example. Do not simply leave it in a drawer as this also poses a fire risk once the battery inside is in poor condition.

As for retrieving the information on the iPod, since the only method for adding music to an iPod Classic is via iTunes, it should all be in your iTunes Library, on your computer. Is that not the case?
