Unable to sync or access music on iPod via iTunes

When I plug my iPod into my MacBook it recognizes the iPod but will not let me access the music or sync the iPod to my computer. I cannot load more music or remove music already on the iPod. Please help

Why does Apple Music and iTunes refuse to see my ipod classic? My ipod classic 80Gb is connecting to my computer and my laptop, and I can connect to it with the Apple Devices app. However that is horendously slow and will only allow me to sync everything from the computer after removing all my music from the ipod. I have songs on there which I cannot get access to elsewhere, so need the facility to selectively sync. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How do I download music to an iPod classic after restoring it? I restored my iPod to original settings and would like to download music to it again. My Mac will connect, but gets no further than loading the software. My iTunes library is still on my computer to download. Any help would be appreciated. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
