Off the wall question. Using Olympus DS2500 Digital voice recorder for voice to text

Off the wall question. I have an Olympus DS2500 Digital voice recorder I want to use for voice to text. I know of the DSS player and possible need for Apple Rosette. Is this or other software still compatible? I am running M1 with Sequoia on my Airbook. Or any suggestions on possible software that might work or other digital recorder models?

I'm taking a once in a lifetime trip, at least at 72 my lifetime, and want record and have text later. I would appreciate any suggestion. Been researching and pulling out what's left of my hair. Thanks

You will need to contact OM Systems and see if they even support the DS2500 with any current software on macOS Sequoia. That device only uses USB-A connection and you will need a USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect it to macOS if you can resolve earlier compatibility issues in this paragraph. Apple has Quick Actions that can transcribe .m4a audio files to text. Just did that on Sequoia v15.5.

The original manual for the DS2500 was primarily Windows XP -> 7, and macOS 10.4.11 -> 10.7 with PowerPC or Intel Core Solo processors. That would be 32-bit software that is not supported on any Apple Silicon Mac and Rosetta 2 expects compatible 64-bit Intel software (x86_64), not PowerPC.

If you have a recent iPhone, that would be a better dictation choice using Voice memos as its native M4A audio files can be shared with macOS Sequoia. I am concerned with OM Systems using proprietary audio files and software to access them.
