How do I transfer my kids' accounts from an old Apple ID to a new Family Sharing group on my personal iPhone?

I have created my kids’ accounts (on their iPads) on my old laptop that has a different apple ID… now I want to create a family sharing on my personal phone but it says they are already under my old email (I am the organizer and they are under 13). I do not have a device connected with it anymore and on iCloud.com it shows like I have no family sharing set up (it only gives me the option to create one). How can I disband that group and transfer my kids to my personal iPhone? Thanks!

Your options are outlined in this article about how to move a child to another group using Family Sharing - Move a child to another group using Family Sharing - Apple Support

You will have to have access to the old account on Apple hardware. If you have a Mac you can set up the first Apple Account in a second user account on the computer. I don't see a way to manage FS using a browser.

Yep 🙈 that’s what I had to do in the end… sing out of my new laptop and add the old apple ID and do the transfer that way…

I didn’t know you can have a second account on the laptop though… will look into that, thanks!
