“Add to wallet” functionality has disappeared from many third party iPhone apps. Any reason for this?

“Add to wallet” functionality has disappeared from many third party iPhone travel apps, such as Marriott and Hertz. Any reason for this? I noticed it when deleting old reservations from the wallet, I can’t add new reservations. There’s no button that says add to wallet. Have the standards changed for the apps? This was very convenient. I’m surprised that it is no longer possible. Is it just bad developers?

The Marriott app version is “10.85.1”. It only updated a week ago. There is no one at Marriott to ask. I’m pretty sure it worked before the recent update. I think it has a new look…

With Hertz at one point some reservations could be added to the wallet and others could not. Now, it seems it’s totally gone.

my question is, is there some wider Apple reason this is happening? I’m guessing it’s just bad developers. Even Sam’s Club doesn’t allow you to add their card to your wallet anymore.

I just opened my Marriott app and the button to add to Apple Wallet is still there, so I’m confused. Sorry! Have you talked to the support at Marriott? They be the best point of contact for you at this point.

Is your iPhone and apps updated to their latest versions respectively?

Focus doesn’t seem to change the buttons in the app. I even switched to light mode. Still no button for add to wallet. I assume it’s just not gonna be a thing anymore. The Hilton app still has it. The Hilton app and their door key Technology seems to be the best.

If Focus is configured and enabled, shut it off temporarily, and see if things work as you expect.
