Okay, so looking from the previous 15 pro series, what estimate can I expect to get when the iphone 17 series comes out ?

No one here knows nor can speculate. You will just have to wait until it releases and see what Apple offers.

Apple does not accept the current sold lineup of iPhones for trade in. You'll need to sell it independently or wait until the new lineup of iPhone's are released, in which you can then trade it in.

If you do decide to sell it independently, be sure to follow this so the new owner can properly setup the device for use. What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Does trading in an american version in Canada change the trade-in value ?

You can trade in your iPhone anywhere, but trade in values will differ by region. And you shouldn't try to go to a region that gives the highest trade in value, but instead the country you live in, because the credit you receive will be for that region. If you choose a gift card, you can only use it there. If you choose an iPhone, it will be an iPhone intended for sale in that region and primarily with warranty issues, you will face feature and connectivity issues too for use in other countries.

hmm I see so using an american iphone in Canada will have some connectivity issues ur saying ? I'm with telus btw (in canada)

Just a possibility you can never rule out. For example, iPhones sold in the US are e-SIM only, so you won’t be able to use a physical SIM card there in Canada.
