I have a prerecorded mixed stereo track. I'd like to add bass and drums.
If I start the session by importing the stereo wav file, Logic can sense the minor changes in rhythm and show that on the ruler. I can't get drummer to follow the tempo variations. If this is NOT currently a feature, it should be. Thanks!!

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I did use ADAPT to import the track and the ruler shows the variations. It's actually rather pretty. The variations are continuously repetitive.
Looks like the part I was missing was changing back to KEEP TEMPO. I'll report back!

Sir,
You need to grasp "Smart Tempo" to get this to work accurately. First, you need Logic to read the Prerecorded mix. To do this, use "Adapt Mode" and then import the file.
Logic should then give you a variable tempo. Change the Project Tempo Mode back to the default "Keep Tempo".
The session players should now be able to perform minute changes with a variable tempo. The trick is getting Logic to extract the Tempo Map. Best of luck.
