Series 8 Apple Watch won’t pair to Apple TV.

My Apple Watch Series 8 used to be able to pair under the remote app and devices section just by holding it close and typing in the code that would appear. Now it doesn’t show up on the list and will not do anything when holding it close to the Apple TV. I have tried everything I could think of including complete reset of all devices (iPhone, watch, and TV) as well as the network, WiFi , Bluetooth, and associated settings. The watch will only connect over Bluetooth and have to be fairly close to the tv to control.

  1. Verify that your Apple Watch is connected to Wi-Fi first, the exact same network as the Apple TV box, before trying to pair.
  2. Verify that your Apple Watch has Bluetooth active (Settings﹥Bluetooth﹥Bluetooth﹥). Apple software uses Bluetooth to determine ‘nearby’ devices.
  3. Navigate on the Apple TV box to Settings﹥Remotes and Devices﹥Remote app and Devices﹥… and just keep that screen open.
  4. Then try pairing again, from the Remote app. Control Apple TV with Apple Watch - Apple Support
