Apple Watch Series 9 Sleep App: Longer Sleep Time than Time in Bed

Hello.

I have been monitoring my sleep using my apple watch Series 9 using AutoSleep as well as the built-in Sleep Apps. I have observed subtle differences between the two sets of data, mostly about the amount of time reported in deep sleep. But today I noticed that Apple Sleep reports me having spent 5 hr 49 min in bed and 7 hr 14 min Asleep. I cannot have been asleep outside of bed.

Any idea why that might be?

Thanks

Farzad

If you are sitting in your chair without moving, the watch may register this as sleep.

I had my teeth cleaned at the dentist today, sitting one hour in the chair, hardly moving at all. When I came home the AutoSleep app had added this times period as time asleep.

So, I edited the sleep data and chose the correct settings and the app showed the time asleep again as when I got up early in the morning.

This also may happen when I sit in the chair, reading the newspaper on my iPad after breakfast.

The left picture shows the correct time asleep, 7h44m.
