So what you are telling me is that you can't tell anything by that version?
Correct. That was an extremely old version of the EtreCheck app that has no clue about more recent versions of macOS such as Monterey. You can see the difference in the two reports.
My MacBook Pro is reporting improper shut down every time I startup. It is running Monterey.
Interesting how you describe the improper shutdown since you did not mention the error message "Your computer restarted because of a problem" which would have indicated a Kernel Panic. This tells me the laptop is powering off due to other reasons.
I'm wondering about the third party SSD that you have installed. I see you have DriveDx installed. Please post the complete DriveDx text report for the internal SSD (use the "Additional Text' feature here). What brand of SSD adapter are you using with that third party SSD?
Interesting, I forgot that I had formatted that volume that way. I wonder if that's what the firmware is that makes some SSDs not bootable on 2015 in Mojave and earlier. Does it also require APFS?
No, the partitioning & formatting of the SSD is Ok.
Clean up:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.p5sys.jump.connect.service.plist
/Applications/Jump Desktop Connect.app/Contents/MacOS/JumpConnect
Executable not found
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.visualware.bcs.plist
/Applications/BCS/Contents/MacOS/BCS
Executable not found
May be a good idea to delete these two left over items:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.p5sys.jump.connect.service.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.visualware.bcs.plist
I'm not a macOS software expert so I will need to defer the expertise of others on that front. However, there is no reason to have MalwareBytes running all the time. The report does show a couple of apps/processes with a few crashes. Not sure if it could be related.
Have you tried an SMC Reset and PRAM Reset (hold the PRAM Reset for three chimes if possible)?
What state do you leave the laptop when you encounter these "improper shutdown" messages on startup? Did you try to completely power off/shutdown the laptop, or put it to sleep, or it went to sleep on its own after no human interaction for a while? When you finally log into macOS, does the battery have significant charge or is it less than 20% charge?
How often do you get these "improper shutdowns"? If it is every time, then try booting into Safe Mode and comparing the results.
