On parent phone - iPhone ask for screen time passcode to add/update contact

I have parental controls enabled for my kids. I am not managing their contact and “Allow Contact Edit” is Yes. My kids are able to update/add contacts.

however, on my phone (parent), it asks for screen time password when I try to add or update any contact. This is weird behavior and started to come recently, pls advise.

The screen time on my kids phone disappear after one or two days, it is really annoying. I have changed the screen time password at least 10 times, there is no way they know the password. If you know how to fix this, please let me know. I have been using screen time for my kids for a couple of years and it worked well until a couple of weeks that I have noticed that after one or two days screen time limits disappear. I have changed the screen time password many times, there is no way my kids know the password. Is there any way we can fix this problem, the kids are spending too much time on their phones.

Removing “Downtime Contact” from my name on my daughter’s phone My daughter received her first phone at a young age, so at that time I enabled downtime and restrictions, including setting specific contacts she could call/text during downtime. As she’s gotten older, I’ve removed most restrictions and eliminated the need for specific contacts she can have more freedom. However, in spite of removing all specific contacts, she still has me listed as a downtime contact and can’t change my profile photo or edit the contact information on her own, without asking for the password. I even disabled downtime, and it still wouldn’t remove me from a downtime contact, therefore blocking her from editing the information. Is there anything I can do to remove the downtime contact notation so she has control of her own phone again? For now, I’ve changed the passcode for screen time and given it to her, but I’d like to remove the need for a passcode by eliminating issue itself. She’s on an iPhone 16, I’m on an iPhone 16 pro, and we’re both on iOS 18.4. Removing “Downtime Contact” from my name on my daughter’s phone

Screen time My child can turn off screen time by just blocking me in the contacts. Apple please fix this loophole
