Works fine for me using Safari 18.5 in macOS 15.5. FWIW I'm not blocking/hiding the initial Youtube adds.

I have the same issue with my Mac Mini M4 pro. I had a conversation with one You-tuber that he has also witnessed the same bug. No one seems to have an answer although we speculate that it may be related to the graphics interface between certain Macs and the Youtube rendering as it does not happen on all Youtube videos..

You could be. The fact none of your other devices have the same issue seems to indicate that. It could be something you installed is causing the issue.

You could also try booting into Safe Mode then restart normally. Sometimes that will fix anomalies.

I don't think it's a hardware problem either. Nor did I say it was. Have you tried a different browser?

So far I can't reproduce the behavior in Safari on my M3 iMac running Sequoia 15.5. Perhaps I just haven't found a problematic video.

Same issue for me on Mac Mini M4 Pro and Sequoia.

Works fine for me in Firefox.

A Mac user reported the issue only seen with his Mac Mini M4. All his other Macs have no issue so not sure what that means.

Yep, at 4 seconds it restarts and then plays fine. And it does this every single time I try.

YouTube is loading an ad. ⇣

There are methods to circumvent this, such as hiding them. ⇣

I ran into the same issue, so I’ve switched to Chrome for now. Just waiting for macOS or Safari to get an update that fixes it.
