How to recover lost photos after iCloud transfer?

I previously had a phone given to me by my work and it had its own icloud setup by the work. I have recently left the company and got a new phone for me personally. When I got my new phone I transferred all of my data from the icloud of my old work phone. I was able to make a new icloud account for myself and everything stayed the same.

Once I was officially done with the company they clear my work phone and now on my new phone all of my photos are gone. I assume this was because they were all in the cloud and not on my physical phone but os there any way for me to 2 them back even after the company wiped the old work phone?
