I need advice for splitting one Library onto 2 ssd drives -

I am working on a documentary and have a Library with 7TB of proxy media for the interviews (the original media is 28TB) -- right now it is all one one external 20TB HDD drive -it works, but is slow. Can you help guide me to splitting the interview media onto 2 4TB SSD drives - but kept in one library. I think this can be done but I'm not sure how to set it up. thank you.

You'll make a folder on each of the two new drives and place media into it.

You'll import that media into a Library that has "Leave In Place" configured.

Now, do modify an existing Library, I'd move my media (Interviews) as above. Then you'll have to Relink your media with the "Leave In Place" option.

It's going to get a little confusing, take your time. But you can't really split one Library into two parts.

Thanks so much Ben. Much appreciated. However, i'm a bit worried because I consolidated the Library so all the media is inside it. I do have a folder on the same drive that is Media only - so I can try to set up these new ones and keep the media out of the Library - but it took me so long to get this one to work I wish there was a way to do this another way. -- but I suspect you are on target.
