How can I fix frame drops and audio sync issues in Final Cut Pro?

My GoPro footage glitches forward and causes audio-video desync OR drops frames completely, does this mean I need to manually remove all the black or dropped frames, or is there a better fix? I've tried transcoding the media into proxy and optimized. I've tried ProRes and H.264. Nothing works. Is the media corrupted?

Exactly what year is your MBP model?

It sound like a hardware playback issue. Especially coming from an action camera. They don't do the cleanest formatting of footage. Like Luis says, transcode with Handbrake, use the new clips, I bet they work just fine.

But seriously, what year is your MBP, RAM, percentage of system drive that is still free space?
