I get that Apple wants us to buy new Apple pencils because they want money, but is there more reasons why the Apple Pencil 2nd generation does not work with my new iPad Air 13 inches M2 or did they just do it on purpose? Is there a way to still connect it cause honestly that was a pretty expensive pencil and I’m really disappointed it just doesn’t work with this iPad…

The basic reason is that iPad model design changes over time, as do Apple Pencils.
Apple does provide the following support article that identifies that the 2nd generation Apple Pencil is not compatible with your iPad Air model: Apple Pencil compatibility - Apple Support
Did you purchase your current pencil directly from Apple? If so, you have a 14-day, from the purchase date, to return the pencil for a full refund, and then, purchase the appropriate pencil that is compatible (Apple Pencil Pro or Apple Pencil USB-C) with your iPad.
The following was included on the online Apple Store for this iPad:
For the new iPad models, the front camera and FaceID sensor array have been relocated from the short-edge to the long-edge of the iPad - such that the camera and sensor array are now positioned top-centre of the screen (as seen with the iPad is positioned in Landscape orientation). As such, the camera/sensor array now occupy the internal cavity previously used for the second generation Pencil's inductive pairing/charging system.
To accommodate this change, the charging system for the Apple Pencil has been completely redesigned - moving the associated electronics to different cavity locations along the top edge of the iPad chassis. The new Apple Pencil Pro has been specifically designed to accommodate the new internal architecture.
Consequently, relocation of inductive coupling components within newer models of iPad and Pencil preclude use of the second generation Pencil with new models of iPad - and, by extension, new models of Apple Pencil are not back-compatible with older models of iPad.

No actually, it was one that someone gave me since they didn’t really use it, they had bought it recently, but not less than 14 days ago so now it’s just kind of useless… I just thought it was really annoying from Apple to need to make a new pencil even though the last one probably could’ve worked in a way or another…? Why does it not work in maybe more details please? Is there a good reason?
