Where to find larger thermal pads for Mac Pro's processor?

Thermal pads that are big enough for Mac Pro? Who even sells those? I think the average thermal pad is too small for the Mac Pro’s processor. So yeah. I need to know where to buy bigger thermal pads I think.

Those feature Intel Xeon 32xx series processor, likely 14 Nm process, including on-processor RAM Error correction and detection. They get extremely hot (total desktop power budget of up to 205 Watts for the processor alone).

Those should NEVER be run with thermal pads -- thermal paste is the only way to fill the gaps and get a metal (processor) to metal (heatsink) connection with enough heat transfer ability.

Unless you are absolutely CERTAIN that your model uses thermal pads, DO NOT install that way.

Most Mac Pro models get so HOT, the only way to carry that heat away is with flat, close-fitting and enormous heatsink coated with a thin film of Thermal PASTE to fill in the gaps.

In general, pads do NOT have enough heat-carrying capacity to do that job. Pads are used only for really easy jobs like carrying away heat from an SSD-stick Drive.

Also replacing the heatsink paste is RARELY the actual solution, but it can cause enough hurly-burly around the processor to discover and fix the real problems.

What model-year MacPro?

Keep in mind if your machine is under warranty, modifying the physical thermal management of your computer is ill advised. These are finely tuned machines. Keep in mind the ambient environment is key to making the computer run smoothly, and the specs should be carefully followed. I've seen desktop computers with dust bunnies everywhere overheat. They were inside a muffler shop. It is good to keep the machine raised over any floors that have wall to wall carpeting and away from direct sunlight and in an air conditioned room in hot environments.
