Unable to pair Kirkland Signature Hearing Aids to iPhone16e

My Costco Kirkland Signature Hearing Aids (Sonova?) were paired with my iPhone 7. I believe they are German. I now have a 16e with eSim connected to Consumer Cellular. I attempted to pair/link the hearing aids to the 16e: Settings>Accessibility>HearingDevices>MFI Hearing Devices

The phone goes into search mode but does not "find" the hearing aids.

I need to fix this as these are my (expensive!) ear buds.

If they are "Made for iPhone" (List of Made for iPhone hearing devices - Apple Support states Kirkland KS 6.0 and KS 8.0 are), the instructions in Use Made for iPhone hearing devices - Apple Support (the way you paired on your previous phone) should work.

Note the following from the "Put your hearing device in pairing mode" section of those instructions:

  • If your hearing device has built-in rechargeable batteries and no on/off switch, remove the device from its charger when you're ready to pair and connect to your Apple device.

If they aren't "Made for iPhone", page 34 of the following has instructions for turning them off (if the manual applies to your model): https://ks10userportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/PH_User_Guide_KS_10.0_105x74_EN-US_V1.01_029-0859-03_preview.pdf

Page 36 and following pages have pairing instructions: https://ks10userportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/PH_User_Guide_KS_10.0_105x74_EN-US_V1.01_029-0859-03_preview.pdf

Also, I believe they switch off when placed in the charging case and on when removed from the case.

My Costco Hearing Aids have non removable lithium batteries. They do not have an on/off switch; only up and down volume buttons. After turning on Bluetooth, #4 in the Kirkland Instructions say to switch the hearing aids off, wait five seconds then turn them back on

Does anyone know how to turn these Hearing Aids on and off? ( Back in the day it was possible to do this by removing/replacing the batteries)

"Settings>Accessibility>HearingDevices>MFI Hearing Devices" worked my old iPhone 7 for these hearing aids. The iPhone 16e just searches without results with Bluetooth turned on. Bluetooth is working for other things.

My other option is to go to the local Costco Hearing Aid Center. It is 60 miles from here and I only go every five or six weeks. I would rather not make a special trip.

My Kirkland Hearing Aids are now paired with my iPhone16e.

The procedure is:

Settings>Bluetooth (On)

Place Hearing Aids in Charger to turn them off, wait 5+ Seconds and remove to turn back on.

Then they pair as a R-KS hearing aid. (These Kirkland/Sonova hearing aids will NOT pair as MFI Device through Settings>Accessibility>hearing devices.)

Thank you FoxFifth for your assistance. Hopefully the short procedure above will help others.
