Mac mini M4 input lag during games

Hello!

I decided to download some games to play on new Mac mini M4, but every time I am playing it has input lag (or I think it is input lag). I tried 2 games so far: Among The Sleep (Epic Games) and Resident Evil 2 (App Store).

Both games have the same problem, if I stay in one place and use only my mouse everything is fine, but as soon as I start to walk I have problems with turning my mouse to the side and even walking in other direction.

Sometimes is no FPS drop during the lag, I just continue to walk in the direction where I was walking and I can't turn with my mouse for 1-2 seconds. It is a constant issue, which happens every time I move in my game.

Resident Evil 2 example:

I press W and move my mouse to the left -> camera does not move -> I stopped pushing W -> character still going forward

Comments to example:

  1. Sometimes there is FPS drop, so I know that my character won't stop after key release, but sometimes I know only after I released the key.
  2. While I have "stuck key" I can move my camera, until the next lag spike
  3. My setup is: Monitor - MG279Q (HDMI port), Keyboard - IQUNIX Magi65 (Bluetooth), Mouse - Logitech 203G (USB-C -> USB-A adapter)
  4. I tried other keyboard and it does not resolve the issue
  5. It is not a necessity to use mouse for this lag to happen (I tried just walking in different directions and I still got "stuck key" effect

I am not sure if Resident Evil is ARM64 native, so the problem might be with rosetta. It might be also monitor issue, but I don't think so. Maybe someone knows what is the issue or if somebody has Mac mini m4 can download Resident Evil 2 and test it (it is free partly, I didn't buy anything).

Hmm... that mouse should work as well if not better than an inexpensive Logitech M100 that I'm using.

Are you able to setup and use the additional mouse buttons in those games...?

Maybe the lags and delays are coming from other open App's that are using the Mac mini's resources.

Check/Reduce your Log-in Items and/or Quit some of the other App's that are open.
