Ipad Stolen Message on Screen (Lost Mode)

I bought an Ipad 9th Generation from a Guy around 5 Months ago, So He Factory reset the Device Infront of me to wipe off all the Data and Information on this Ipad, So I logged in with my Apple ID and it was working perfectly fine as it was like new with ( Box + Original Charger ) Serial Number and QR Tags on Box Back Side. But 2 Days back I found my Ipad In lost mode. Why this Happens and what should I do to restore because I can't find my Ipad 9th Generation on Icloud devices as well. I can provide all the Details like Pictures of the Box and Apple ID if needed by Apple Support. Please help Restoring my Ipad to Normal Mode.

Thanks & Regards.

Thx first of All for considering and response. Got your Point Bro.. I have the understanding of buying used Ipad, So I bought it with the Original Box and all the details mention on it. Like Serial # Part Number etc etc.

That means nothing. Apple will only consider removing Activation Lock if you are the original purchaser of the device, and bought it from Apple or from an Apple Authorized Reseller. They won't remove Activation Lock for someone who bought a used device from, in your own words, "a Guy."

After 5 Months how the Device can be turned on to Lost mode and by Whom ?

It can be placed in Lost Mode by the person to whom it is registered. Which means that in spite of everything you are telling us, either the iPad was still registered to someone else, or you did not keep your Apple Account secure. If you gave your Apple ID and Apple ID password to someone else – or gave one of your devices and its passcode or password to someone else – you may have created an opening for a scammer to use.

I know the guy I bought this device from.

Then return it to him and have him remove the Activation Lock and properly prepare it for a new owner, then give it back to you. (Note: This will wipe any data currently on the iPad, and if you've been storing your synchronized data and backups in his iCloud account, you won't have access to that data afterwards.)

Or return it to him and have him give you your money back.

Since you know the guy, you should have no problem getting him to "make it right" one way or the other – right?

Apple support are not here. We are your fellow end users. Do not post and Apple ID info, serial numbers, of personal information here.

I see no circumstance where Apple would unlock that used iPad for you. Those locks are to deter thefts.

You were likely scammed. You can report it to the police but they seem far too busy with more serious crime than fraud.
