Apple Music Windows 11 bug report
I use Apple music on my work Windows 11 machine and when it works, it works well. I enjoy the music, the algorithms are working well and it's synced across my devices.
But... The following things are still happening so I'm reporting them in the hope Apple is reading these:
- It will only launch from the Microsoft Store. If you click on the app icon anywhere else it opens and says "Something went wrong"
- If you connect bluetooth headphones whilst the app is running (e.g. opened the app with no bluetooth devices, then connected later) it will not play through them and there's no option to change input device (swear you used to hold a modifier key and click volume to change output device)
- The session times out if the machine goes to sleep requiring either signing back in or closing and re-opening the store through the Microsoft Store.
- The Playing Next and History don't seem to work if you create station.
- likewise the back button doesn't work for create station.
What I've tried to fix it:
- Uninstalling
- Uninstalling it and hunting down every file including caches and registry keys
- Repairing it through Windows Add/Remove programs
- Resetting it through Windows Add/Remove programs
- Signing out and in within the app (this obviously fixes the session issue till the next time the machine sleeps)
Machine:
- Windows 11 (all patches applied)
- Apple Music (all patches applied)
- Lenovo Thinkbook 14s Yoga ITL (work machine, no choice)
Overall the app is good, but these items let it down.
