How do I stop my Mac from remembering past print settings?

When printing from different applications, the copy count does not reset to one after a print job is complete.

Rather, even if I want just a single copy of a today Safari download, it gives me the right page, but a copy count of 7 that I requested for yesterday's booklet that I printed from Word.

How do I convince the print system to not remember copy count inside the print dialog?
