Logic / VEP loses sync / connects to different instances

I have created a large template in Logic using VEP Pro (running on a separate server). In logic I use the AU3 VEP plugin. On initial creation of the template, everything works fine i.e. I create a multitimbral track, I assign Aux tracks and then create these in the track view, assign midi channels etc. All works fine.

However, I have come back to the template today and the instruments, whilst connecting to the correct instance in VEP pro, in LOGiC, the VEP instrument shows a totally different instance that it is connected to? To be clear, the instrument in Logic connects to the correct instance in VEP, plays OK, but shows the wrong instance name.

I am at a loss as to why this would happen? Once could argue that's fine, leave as is with the wrong names, but I don't know how this is going to change in the future......

IF I try connecting, lets say Logic VEP pro instrument "Brass" to "Brass" in the VEP program, it will show as connected, yet will not respond to midi input from my keyboard.

Im using LOGIC trial and need to purchase in the next 15 days, however this is going to be a major sticking point for me .

The attached shows that it is connected to "8Dio obstinate brass" - it should be connected to the instance "Lumina" and indeed it is, yet LOGIC shows what is in the screen shot
