You can recognize scam emails by several characteristics. One is the call to action or immediate need to respond. Two, banks do the exact opposite, they stop suspected fraudulent charges, then ask if you want it approved. They Do NOT charge your account and then say they think it’s fraudulent. Do you see the difference? 😀 Lastly, merchants do not contact you about suspected fraudulent charges. Either your bank or the Payment Network Processor (Mastercard, Visa, American Express etc.) will contact you, but only after declining the transaction.
“Don't answer suspicious phone calls or messages claiming to be from Apple. Instead, contact Apple directly through our official support channels.”
”To report a suspicious SMS text message that looks like it's supposed to be from Apple, take a screenshot of the message and email the screenshot to reportphishing@apple.com.”
