How can I download and edit a custom holiday list for my iPhone Calendar?

Can anyone recommend a holiday list or whatever I can install? I’m just looking for one without all the holidays I’ve never heard of. I see lots of posts from others asking how to delete the unfamiliar ones, along with responses (never from Apple) saying that’s not allowed and to download another list. But I’ve never seen anyone say what the other list is.

I don’t want to get into the reason for this. IMO, it’s pretty obvious. I just would appreciate someone pointing to a list of holidays I can download and edit, so my calendar only has holidays I’ve actually heard of :)

thanks

There are 2 types of calendars that can be used, a subscription calendar or you can create your very own calendar on your device.

  • A subscription calendar is one that you subscribe to and that includes the Holiday Calendar. It is not possible to edit any subscription calendar and you are simply mirroring the data from another source. You can create your own subscription calendar by using many websites and here is an example of one in this link or you can subscribe to one of the predefined calendars. Once you create the calendar or choose another calendar, you can subscribe to it, but again you cannot edit the subscription calendar on your device.

  • You can create any custom Calendar on your device and add only the events you want. You do not need to subscribe to the Holiday Calendar and the calendar created on your device can be edited at any time.
