LOGIC PRO feature sugestion to help organize files

Composers use to make a mess with different versions of the same song, recorded at different times... To help organize these, a tool I wish to have in LOGIC PRO is an automatic history notation which takes notes of what was recorded lately, like a files log we see on the servers. It could have editable tags, so categories can be created to better group the music compositions: by dates, drafts ideas, improvisations, project A, B, C, etc The same goes for lyrics notations, with chords notation.

The best way I know is to actually tag the name of the Project per the date, time, and purpose (as I mentioned in my last post). It is much easier to remember something when you think of the month and perhaps the time.

I stay organized and have written thousands of songs at this point. Every year, I create a new folder for all the clients I work with so everything is laid out clearly. Occasionally, an old client will want stems or a remix and all I have to do is check the name of song or the year I worked with them.

Organization is important so good luck to you lining everything up.

I'm not sure, if I've understood you correctly. Are you talking about recordings or the score editor?

For recordings:

You could use Project Alternatives. I prefer to use Save a Copy as on every important production step. I give the versions proper names like "MyProject07_the-Best-Idea-Ever". I put these versions into a folder inside the project folder. Yes, I'm organizing projects as folder not as packages.

I make also use of empty midi tracks, that I rename and use as comments inside a project.

Try to make you feature request more clear and think about the complexity of your feature.

Hello. Thank you for your reply.

I see that you have developed your own way of organizing files, by placing a folder inside the projects folder. This is the kind of solution that I would like to see as default in Logic. It could be this way that you have created for yourself or some other one. A management tool.

Because if we have all our productions indexed (with tags), it will be much easier to know which is which and group them according to need.

Going down this path, if Logic can manage the files, it may also be able to help us write down the lyrics of the songs that we create in Logic; already edited with their respective chords. But this is a second tool.

Thanks for the tip about the score editor, I am newbie in some tools and this is one of them, I'll ckeck it deeper. Maybe I can use it to write chords over the lyrics; instead of sheet music.
