Unable to use iCloud email

Hi. I am unable to use my iCloud email after attempting to make it as my main Sign-In Address.

1.) Settings > Apple Account > Sign-In & Security > Email & Phone Numbers:

I had functional iCloud email address. However, when I tried to use it as my main Sign-In & Security address it completely stopped working.

2.) When I tried to add it under Sign-In & Security, it ended informing me that the process failed then I had to resort to sticking to my old one.

3.) For the couple of weeks I have noticed that I am not receiving any emails on the email address I tried to used. I was informed that each time someone tried to send me an email, an NDR (Non-Deliverable Report) would be generated informing the sender that my email address is not longer found on the system.

4.) I assumed this means that my email address got deleted. So I went to Create a New iCloud account and tried to use the the same email address and it stated that the address is already taken:

5.) I then proceed to try to login into my email and it failed and then tried to reset the password:

I am not sure what to do anymore. Is my email still on the ICloud system ? Is it deleted ?

I am so baffled by this as this is something new that I have encountered.

please may I have to guidance around this.

thanks. 🙂
