Why didn't my Apple Community points change even after getting upvotes?

Yep, that is because the upvote did not come from a user that had logged in as FoxFifth stated. If upvotes counted for users who were not logged in, then a poster could upvote their own posts multiple times to receive points.

Upvotes only result in points if the person making the upvote is logged into the forum.

A lot of times the "honeypot" threads will receive dozens of upvotes which are about all from un-logged in members.
