I was able to import footage from my old Panasonic camcorder. But at the end of the import I get the "End Of Tape" message and cannot close that window. The main quit option is greyed out and only way out of IMovie is to force quit and then I loose the footage I just copied. What do I do here?

I would guess so, I have not seen this crop up recently.
Fast forward to the end so that you know when to stop it.
You might try importing with Quicktime.
Support for getting DV footage onto computers seems to be evaporating.
I got this message again and was able to close the window, so I'm figuring the original message I got the first time was after the window message was open for a long time which made the cpu freeze, I think this is solved
NOT SOLVED Same issue with another camcorder this means I have to go back and re do entire session and watch till before it gets to end?
