CarPlay won't use car sound for certain phone calls

I have a 2018 Hyundai Elentra. When receiving phone calls on car play the ringtone and dial will come through the car audio but once the call is answered the audio changes to directly from my phone. However it’s not for all phone calls. My partners work phone comes through the cars audio but his personal phone will only come through on my phone.
