The lock icon on the left of safari search bar is gone
As long as I can recall such lock icon means a secure connection, but it has been many, many months it does not show there anymore. Does anyone knows an explanation for that?

Any website you visit now is a secure connection. If you attempt to access a site the is not secure, you are met with a warning that continuing is not recommended as any information provided can be intercepted. If you do choose to continue after the warning, it says "Not Secure" in the search bar.
