This just started happening with Sonoma. Unlike earlier OS versions, Sonoma doesn't pick up where it left off at Shutdown in the cycle of the photos I use as wallpaper. They are set to change every minute. It's my main way of viewing my photos, and it's really annoying that Sonoma starts over from the beginning every time I start up the computer. What's the fix for this?

No idea... you could upgrade to Sequoia, although I don't know if it will work the same way or not. The wallpaper is usually covered by whatever you do, right? When posting a message in this forum, or viewing a web site, video, etc, it makes little difference what the wallpaper is, because I can't see it.
I'd suggest you make a slideshow or more using Photos to view your... photos, since viewing them in a corner of the screen, or covered in desktop icons, is not such a good way to view them. Just sayin'
I don't use Photos. I keep my desktop free of clutter; yes, when I'm working in an app, I don't see the desktop. When I do see the desktop, in any OS before Sonoma, I'm not stuck with seeing the same few images at the beginning of the cycle just because poor programming eliminated a feature that has been available through many iterations of the Mac OS. I have no interest in "upgrading" to Sequoia; I wish I didn't need to use Sonoma just to try out a couple of new photo editors. Still trying to find a viable post-Adobe workflow.
