Why does Final Cut Pro X glue multiple clips together when creating a multicam clip?
trying to make a multicam clip of three clips, fcpx glues all three clips together one after another, why?

Before making the multicam: select the clips in the browser, open the Inspector in the Info pane, and add a different "camera angle" for the clips that belong to each angle. You may need to switch the metadata view from "Basic" to "General":
