Why are blocked emails and phone numbers still appearing in my iPhone 14's inbox?

I have a lot of blocked email address and tel numbers on my mail blocked list. They are suppose to go to trash. They still come to my inbox and says this contact is on your blocked sender list. I have iPhone 14 why do they still come to my inbox?
