Windows 11 Apple TV does not play some episodes

Dear Community,

when I click play on some episodes of some shows, nothing happens when using the MS Store Apple TV App. Usually it should open a player window and begin playing the episode, but for the following episodes, simply nothing happens:

For all Mankind: S03 E08 (everything before works, havent checked anything after 08)

Sugar: 01, 02, 04, 06, 08 (note how 3, 5 and 7 play perfectly fine)

I've tried several ways of triggering the launch:

• Directly from the main app, "continue watching" section
• go to episode -> "Resume playback"
• from the previous episode, let it autoplay, you can see in the screenshot below, the autoplay ring timer runs out but then nothing happens, the credits continue rolling for the previous episode when the credits are done, window closes instead of continuing to the next ep.
• Download the episode and then play it (downloads perfectly and really fast, folder contents seem identical to another working downloaded episode, even the xml file is as identical as can be expected, but it still does not play)
• Play the episodes in the browser -> works perfectly fine, with horrible resolution, no thank you
• Play on Android phone -> works
• Installed the 1$ HVEC extension from the MS Store -> did not solve anything
• Installed app on another windows 10 pc, logged in with my user, didn't work, created a trial account with my wife's credentials, also there didn't work.
• disconnected original Win11 pc from my home network, connected to mobile hotspot, did not work either.
• I of course deleted and reinstalled the app a few times as well as wiped anything I could find in the AppData folders relating to Apple.

I am at a complete loss here. It's not my pc's fault, it's not even my Apple Account's fault. The episodes download too, so connectivity is not the issue either.

When everything else is ruled out, the most plausible remaining answer remaining is that the apple servers nearby (Germany, Bavaria, Munich / Augsburg) are not allowing playback of these episodes.
