How to enable "Voice Isolation" in Final Cut Pro 11 for a multicam edit on Mac Studio?

I'm editing on MacStudio with the M1 Ultra chip. My OS is Sequoia 15.3.1

I have a multicam edit where one clip has a person speaking, but distantly, while there is music in the background. I'd like to isolate the person's voice so I can raise its volume. I've never used Voice Isolation before. I've read that the option to use it should show up in the Audio Inspector in the Audio Enhancements section. I can see that section, but the words "Voice Isolation" do not appear as an option.

Is it because this is a multicam edit? How can I activate Voice Activation for this edit?

Your help appreciated! With thanks,

Duncan

Voice Isolation works just fine inside and out with Multicam clips. I do it almost daily.

In your Multicam Angle Editor, select a clip that has audio, you'll see Voice Isolation in the audio Inspector.

If there's no audio in that clip, or the audio channel(s) is disabled, you will not see Voice Isolation.

Once a multicam clip is dropped into a Project timeline, same process. Pretty simple.

Tom, I need to back up here. After leaving the problem clilp and then returning to it, I tried the steps you outlined and which worked before. But now all that I can get to open under Audio Enhancements are 1) Audio analysis, 2) Pan, and 2) Mode.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Duncan

Move the cursor near the words "Audio enhancements". The word "Show" will appear. Click it.

Dear Tom (our eternal helper), So good to hear from you again.

That worked! Thank you. You lowered my stress level!

Tom, on a different issue, if I leave Final Cut on for a while, but don't activate it, it freezes up. Sometimes it does it while I am working in it. Do you have a thought about why and how to avoid this happening? With thanks as always, Duncan

Tom, BenB (thanks for the screenshot) and Luis, First of all, thank you for your willingness to help me. I'll try to add two screenshots here: 1) the multicam timeline spot I want to try Voice Isolation on, and 2) the angle then activated in the Angle Editor.

But when I move my cursor next to "Audio Enhancements and open "Show", It still won't show me Voice Isolation. There must be something I'm doing wrong.

Thank you, Duncan

Luis, that makes a lot of sense to me. That kind of implies that "Voice Isolation" is built on being able to screen out one stereo track and raise the other as need be. That would seem to be different than the concept of being able to isolate all sound that is not human voice and let one work with the track that is voice.

I guess I'll have to go forward on that assumption and not be able to use Voice Isolation. Thanks so much for digging into this for me. Best wishes, Duncan
