Why is Apple Numbers so Limited in Terms of Copyright Protections?

I wanted to password protect one particular tab/sheet of my Workbook with important code in it but find I can only Password protect the whole document which won't stop intellectual property theft of that tabs contents.

Is there anyway to allow people to download/use the Workbook whilst protecting years of work developing certain code within it?

I could set a hidden serial number for each Workbook to try and mitigate it being copied and distributed for free on the internet (or at least know who to pursue for copyright theft) but then I won't be able to have automatic downloads from my website.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

While you can hide and password protect a sheet in Excel (you mentioned "workbooks"), if you import it into Numbers it is 100% visible and unprotected. I'm sure there are other ways to do the same thing. Just saying that hiding and password protecting provides only minimal protection. It is good for keeping someone from editing something by accident but not for keeping it from prying eyes. It would be the same in Numbers. With one reference to a cell on a hidden sheet to give me a sheet and table name, I could create a table of functions to tell me all formulas in the entire table using just FORMULATEXT and IFERROR. I could replicate all tables on the hidden sheet that way.

"Numbers is great for individual use and light collaboration"

I realise it was a oversight now @SGIII ! D'oh! 🤦‍♂️😂 But too late... I built the worlds first complex 10 Leg Options Derivatives Calculator with 20 x Black Scholes engines (with Greeks), 6 charts and 12 tables for the chart controllers...

Thanks for all the past help, you and @badunit have been a great help ☺️
