Apple Pay was Hacked

My phone randomly went into SOS mode

I called my carrier from home landline to get it restored.

during the time my phone was offline someone took over my phone and hacked my Apple Pay and charged over 5k on eBay. My bank is refusing to refund the charges because they were made from my Apple Pay. I tracked the time of the charges to when my phone was offline. Also I later saw an email from my bank during the time my phone was offline that said I added the particular debit card charged to Apple Pay….it had been on my Apple Pay for over a year so I never added it, but someone must have. Very elaborate hack but I am still fighting to get someone to listen. I called Apple once to report the hack portion of all of this but they were no help. Frankly I think the guy thought I was crazy. Scammers have to be 5 crazy steps ahead of us to be successful! Anyone heard of this?

No, there’s no such thing. Your card was compromised when you swiped it or inserted the chip. The procedure is called skimming. There on multiple videos on YouTube describing the practice and how your information is bundled and sold on the Dark Web.

Scammers purchase the data, make counterfeit cards and/or add them to electronic wallets like Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay to name just a few. Once your bank verifies the device and identity of user (you) the bank added it to the scammers device. Your bank evidently failed and any recourse lies with your bank and Payment Network Operator (Visa, Mastercard etc.).
