How do I back up my iMovie library to iCloud with a 2TB account?

How can I back up my iMovie library onto my iCloud to my 2TB account?as I have no space on my left on my Mac Pro

When I try to upload I get an error message saying I cannot upload files larger than 100MB. This is minuscule by todays standards, and I have TONS of space in iCloud. Free up storage in iMovie by deleting some media files I've let my iMovie accumulate 500GB of media files. I understand that the best way to solve this is to keep media files on a separate drive available. Is there any way to keep some media files I use over and over locally so I can still travel with my Mac and access just some of the media? Thanks!

Movies and OTHER storage space I have a 2013 iMac, bought Dec 2015 with one TB, and using Yosemite. I have been eliminating files to recover more space. The "About this Mac" says my storage is nearly full. I moved most of what was on the iMac to iCloud, and have trash- emptied quite a lot also. Now: movies is taking 490 GBs, 'Other' is using 229 GBs. My desktop probably has less than 50 GB. How do I locate where 'Movies' and 'Other' are so I can thin them out. I don't download actual movies, but have several videos from courses. All of these have been moved to the iCloud. I do not know what "other refers to. My back up drive is 2 TB, and now has 1.9 TB. Thank you

The iCloud system isn't designed for Mac backups. You can upload the files manually through iCloud Drive, but will likely be better off getting an external drive for excess data, and backing both up to a second external drive.
