How do I eliminate constant buzz when using Logic?

I just got a new macbook air and a new HOSONGIN audio interface and new headphones yet when I plug in my guitar and use any DAW(Im using logic) I hear a constant buzz. Especially when I use distortion which is what I want to use, every time I touch the strings I hear a loud PFFTT and I have no idea whats going on. I know nothing about audio engineering so please respond to this like Im a caveman, idk what to do. (Also I turned the gain down on the audio interface and everytime i raise it on the logic amps the feedback gets louder.)

This is an electrical grounding issue in your room/house/building.

Although EddieGrey is trying to help, if this is happening in any DAW it needs to be solved in the wiring.

Your setup seems pretty portable so you could try it at a friends or family menbers house. It would also do this if the ground had come off on your guitar cable. If you are going directly into your audio interface from the guitar (not micing an amp or using an external line-level guitar device) make sure you are using the hi-z input on your audio interface.

Hi there,

You should try utilizing a plug-in called "Noise Gate" under the Dynamics Category. It should help you cut out noise when you do not need it. It has a light learning curve. You have to set "Threshold" knob in the sweet spot so when you play you are hearing yourself and when you are not playing the guitar sound is silent.

Also, look into "Gain Staging" or "Gain Structure". Broad topic but turn the Gain down on your interface and perhaps on the plug-in itself to manage your levels.

As long as we don't know, how the "PFFTT"-noise really sounds, we can just guess. If it is a grounding issue like octopi suggested, you can also disconnect your airBook + soundcard from power. It should disappear then.

If your soundcard has no hi-z input or instrument input, you need an external device that you put in between.

And also important, make sure your Mac's Mic Mode is set to "Standard".

BTW, I've never heard of the brand HOSONGIN.
