Can I export clips from iMovie library directly?

can source material be exported from iMov… - Apple Community

Can I copy clips from Finder/iMovie library.? In other words, not from within iMovie itself.

User/Me/Movies/iMovie Library/Show Package Contents/My Movie/Original media.

Or are the original clips on the drive in some other fashion.?
