How do I allow full access to Safari for photos on my iPhone 13 Pro Max?
Note: on my end, it looks like the info is cut off on the tail end of the first photo. please leave me a comment if thats true!
I know this is a privacy feature some people appreciate, but I’m currently not one of them. I do feel like I had to try this a couple of times (different sources, different solutions maybe?) with a restart in there but eventually it worked. So be patient and give it a couple of tries!
BE WARNED: The solution is NOT in Privacy & Security > Photos, like most of us assume! Safari is not listed there to toggle or change restrictions like some feedback has suggested. I did this over and over and felt like I was going crazy. I mean its a logical placement but not for Apple, I guess.
Without further ado, this is how I allowed Safari full access my photos as of 5/8/25 with iOS 18.4.1 on a iPhone 13 Max. There are some screenshots inserted if you’re a super visual person like me.
HOW TO: (I capitalized things on purpose instead of using quotes because thats too time consuming on my phone, so please read mindfully)
Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > toggle ON to make changes in this menu > scroll past Photos (Safari is not listed there!) to Media & Apple Music
select Media & Apple Music > checkmark Allow Changes > toggle Photos OFF (on is saying you want to restrict access)
Open Safari and try to upload a photo to something like this board or a photo printing service. If you still see the limited access message at the top, I believe this is where I decided to do a restart and tried again (and likely a few tried to be honest).
For those concerned about privacy but want Safari to be able to access all your photos, you can still adjust in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos, if you want to restrict specific apps like my example here:
