How do I turn off iCloud syncing reminders?

I am intentionally not syncing my information (except "find my Mac) to iCloud. I don't want to sync to iCloud. I want to get rid of the daily nag that forces me to close a reminder box which opens Systems Setting which I must also close to do what I want.
